Considerations for Competition
1. Competing athletes must wear school issued warm-ups. Other team apparel is fine if you are injured.
2. Make sure you come prepared for cold/hot/wet weather. We live in Wisconsin; our weather changes quickly
3. Bring one garbage bag to every meet. It will protect things from being wet if it rains.
4. Support your teammates! Cheer and encourage them throughout the meet. There are only three things you should be
doing during a meet: CHEERING, WARMING-UP, or COOLING-DOWN.
5. Sportsmanship is extremely important. Treat opponents and officials with respect. Congratulate winner-
If you are the winner, act as if you've been there before, and you will be there again. Be gracious in victory
and defear. Most of us lose many more times than we win, so learning to be a good loser is important.
6. Conduct on the bus must be appropriate. Concentrate on what you need to do for you to be successful
during competition.
7. Clean up the bus as the team arrives back at Craig.
8. Please remember that everything you do is a reflection of yourself, your family, the team, your school,
your community, your coach.
9. Craig athletes warm-up and cool-down as a TEAM, always.
10. All athletes are expected to attend each awards ceremony after the meets. There are no exceptions.
If our team members are receiveing awards, be supportive of them (be very loud). ALWAYS cheer for the
winners during awards ceremonies - what an accomplishment.
